Reunion Events

Tentatively Scheduled Programs:

Thursday, February 13, 2020,  Camp Pendleton Tour (8:30 am -3:00 pm) 

Details regarding the tour are still being planned. Check back for more information. Lunch is included and will be at one of the base chow halls. Cost for transportation, tour and lunch is $40.

Friday, February 14, 2020,  Marine Corps Recruit Depot (8:30 am – 3:00 pm)

We will be viewing the graduation of Marine recruits with special recognition of our Iwo Jima veterans in attendance. Lunch is included at the Bay View Club on base. Cost for transportation, tour and lunch is $40.

Tours of Camp Pendleton and other military bases are contingent on favorable weather and the bases being in a position to provide the tour service. Minimum bus occupancy is 25 persons. No private vehicles are allowed on tours. While walkers can be stored in the baggage area, there is a 2-3 step climb to enter the bus. Prices subject to change if necessary.

Saturday, February 15, 2020,    Memorial Service and Banquet

Pacific View Events Center Ballroom and adjacent area

Dress:  Semi-formal (Black Tie Optional)

4:30 p.m.             Memorial Service

A wreath will be laid on the “Iwo Jima Memorial” erected on the Westerly side of the Events Center area that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The Memorial program will close with a 21 Gun Salute and Taps for comrades who fell on Iwo Jima.

5:00 p.m.             Banquet doors open. No Host Bar. World War II Memorabilia Display in rear of Banquet Hall

5:30 p.m.             Concert by 1st Marine Division Band

6:00 p.m.             Call to Order, Presentation of Colors, Program

7:00 p.m.             Dinner is served

9:00 p.m.             Dance to the ‘Old Favorites”

Music by The Don Peterson Dance Band

Banquet tickets are $40.00 per person, table of eight is $320.00. Tables seat eight and will be assigned on a first received basis. If you desire to sit with a particular group, purchase a full or partial table and collect cost from buddies personally. Make reservations early for seating capacity is limited to 1,000 guests.
